The face and heart of Archery, my experience of the 2009 ATA

Hi it’s Matt; I was privileged to go with a great friend of
mine Mossy Oak Pro staff, Compass’ secretary and Up North Journal founder
Mike Adams to go to the ATA show down in Indianapolis. I had an opportunity
to meet a lot of fascinating people. Famous ones like Tiffany Lakosky, Nick
Mundt from the Bone Collectors, Chuck Adams and other celebrities in the bow
hunting world but what I was truly touched and blessed with was meeting
other people like Sharon Priebe, a wonderful lady who worked with Fred Bear
and owns and operates her own outdoor product line. Mindy and Scott Hesterly
a couple that makes custom arrow wraps, very COOL arrow wraps that were
walking around on the floor drumming up business. I think many people see
the celebrities and think that is what bow hunting is all about, the glitz
and glam and harvesting a booner, but to see and talk to the small time
business owners with the passion and love of the sport that’s what it is all
about. Bow hunting is about getting close and personal with the game. The
thrill of a close encounters with an animal, without the small time business
owners with big dreams and ambitions to make this a better sport; we
wouldn’t have the Michael Waddell’s, Chuck Adams or Tiffany Lakosky’s of the
world without them. These are the people we need to appreciate and honor.
