He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For
truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you
will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move,
and nothing will be impossible for you.”
Matthew 18:18-19
18 Truly,
I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and
whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
19 Again
I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it
will be done for them by my Father in heaven.
Matthew 21:21
And Jesus answered them, “Truly, I say to you, if
you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done
to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and
thrown into the sea,’ it will happen.
Mark 11:22-25
And Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God.
23 Truly,
I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown
into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what
he says will come to pass, it will be done for him.
24 Therefore
I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received
it, and it will be yours.
25 And
whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against
anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your
trespasses.”
Romans 1:17
For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as
it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”
Romans 3:21-28
But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law,
although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— the righteousness
of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is
no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is
in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to
be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in
his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. It was to show
his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the
justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. Then what becomes of our
boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? By a law of works? No,
but by the law of faith. For we hold that one is justified by faith
apart from works of the law.
Romans 4:3-5
For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was
counted to him as righteousness.” Now to the one who works, his wages
are not counted as a gift but as his due. And to the one who does not
work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted
as righteousness,
Romans 5:1-2
5:1 Therefore,
since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through
our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith
into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory
of God.
Romans 10:8-11
But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your
heart” (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim); because, if you
confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart
that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart
one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is
saved. For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be
put to shame.”
Romans 10:17
So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own
doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may
boast.
Ephesians 6:10-17
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on
the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the
schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but
against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers
over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the
heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may
be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand
firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having
put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet,
having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all
circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish
all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation,
and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God,
Hebrews 11:1-6
11:1 Now faith
is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
For by it the people of old received their commendation. By faith we
understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that
what is seen was not made out of things that are visible. By faith
Abel offered to God a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain, through which
he was commended as righteous, God commending him by accepting his
gifts. And through his faith, though he died, he still speaks. By faith
Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not
found, because God had taken him. Now before he was taken he was
commended as having pleased God. And without faith it is impossible to
please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he
exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
Hebrews 12:2
looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the
joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and
is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
1 Peter 1:6-9
In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you
have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of
your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by
fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the
revelation of Jesus Christ. Though you have not seen him, you love him.
Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy
that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of
your faith, the salvation of your souls.
1 John 5:4
For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is
the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.
